growing little boy...

November is here... the New Year upon us already! This time last year I was a little over 3 months pregnant, and sick with the swine flu after having JUST got back from Scotland. Now, I'm a mommy who's still trying to figure out the wife/mom combo, but loving the heck out of this adventure. God has blessed us in so many ways this past year. Not just with Judah, but with a growing and strong marriage full of love for the Lord and each other. He has given us an amazing church family who we love to serve and who serves us endlessly. Many trips were had before and after Judah was born, and now we're looking forward to another holiday season, this time with baby in tow. The Martha Stewart/Real Simple Mom in me has had a little too much fun with our apartment, making it home and a welcoming place for friends and family alike. Hours (and I mean hours) of breastfeeding has allowed me to read a dozen or so classics and novels whilst the little dude contented himself. And lots of time was happily spent rolling around on the floor with Judah, just to show him how much fun rolling over can be.

Praise God for this past year. He knew when He made me, even before the beginning of time, He knew that I would love this "honorable profession" as a dear friend calls it. I look forward to each day as an opportunity to glorify God and make my husband's name "known at the gates" (Proverbs 31:10-31- focus on vs. 23). For what I do (and don't do) reflects on both. I'm not saying I have this down pat, or that I am perfect in anyway. I am nothing but an incredibly grateful sinner who is marveling in God's handiwork in my life. So I pray, as the holiday season begins, that you think of all the wonderful blessings God has bestowed on you.

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose...For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:28, 38-39)
