New Year. New Goals.

So, as we bring in the new year with old friends in an amazing city (I love Chicago), I can't help but of course think of the time honored tradition of resolutions. Resolutions get broken, but goals... goals seem more flexible. So here are my top ten goals for 2011. Please keep me accountable.

1. Lose weight- I know. Cliche right? But I would like to be back to my pre-prego body before getting pregnant again. That and for our 4 year anniversary, I'd like to be able to fit in my wedding dress and have pictures taken at Mizzou.

2. Get diabetes back in order. I keep saying this one, but seriously. I've had quite the hiatus since I had Judah. Time to tune it up again.

3. And with those two in order, I can hope to be pregnant again before the end of 2011. Odd goal, I know. But I seriously love being mom.

4. Read through the bible. We are half way through already, but I have learned so much already. I've never read through it all. Not only is it an accomplishment, but more so it's a way to further my relationship with God.

5. Build my graphic design portfolio. If you'd like birthday cards, Christmas cards, photocards, etc., please let me help! I'll do it for free right now just to build up my portfolio. I don't know if I want to make it into an at-home business, but I do enjoy doing it.

6. Continue with the church memory program. So far, we've memorized Genesis 1:1-19. I'd like to continue striving at this.

7. Travel to Scotland, Washington, or Florida- cause we have family in all these areas.

8. Figure out a good time for daily devotions. As Judah gets older and more hands-on, its getting harder to do it during that first feeding of the day. And too soon, he'll be weaned and we won't even have that feeding anymore!

9. Watch Judah grow. I'm not talking like stare at my child and decide whether or not he's grown 1/18 of an inch since yesterday. But marvel at what God is doing in our son.

10. Use time wisely. Pray that God grant me the wisdom to decipher how I can do His will, and what that looks like on a daily basis. Pray that He give me courage to do it even in the face of adversity, and pray that He'll grant be patience and strength to carry it out.

What are your goals?

  1. To put OrangePeel in its rightful place. Working from home has been the most challenging thing I've ever done. It is TOO easy to let it overtake your home!

  2. Our resolutions/goals are: to eat healthier (day 3 of sugar fast!), get up early EVERY day, persevere in Scripture memory and time in the word, smile at my kids more. :)
