O yea...

So, after reading a friend's blog, I realized I never really talk about us. I write about something we've done that started some kind of thought process, but never really about us. So here's the top 5 things we've been doing. A quick entry, but it'll get you up to date.

1. Thanksgiving travels- we enjoyed Thanksgiving, once again, in St. Louis with the families. We drove in Wednesday, spent Thursday with my family, Friday with Joe's, and then with a sick hubby, drove home on Saturday. We were in and out as quick as a flash, but it was still an encouraging time. Please pray that I would have a gentle and quiet spirit this holiday season. There's a lot with Judah that I fear will bring on a lot of in depth conversations (like... we're not doing Santa with our kid)

2. The sickness sweep- It started with Judah getting a flu bug in late October, then me in early November, then Joe immediately after. Then Judah and I got colds, and over Thanksgiving Joe got the flu bug again. Now that we're all done, Judah has an ear infection. Tis the season, right?

3. O Tannenbaum- because we only spend 3 weeks at home between Thanksgiving and Christmas (both spent out of town), we have to be quick to put up decorations and buy gifts so that we can enjoy them and have them ready! So the week after Turkey Day, up went the tree with all its trimming, up went the stockings, the mistletoe hung over the bed as usual... I love decorating, and really... Christmas is the only season we overhaul decorate for! We're not Halloweeners, or Easter-ers... And while I'd love a new wreath for every season, its not financially practical for us at this time. So every Christmas we buy one more decoration to add to our collection (this year was a garland for the bookshelves). Slow but steady, right?

4. God's healing hands- In the past couple months, we've had a few family members with serious physical maladies. Joe's Uncle Chuck was in a motorcycle accident in October, and is now about to be released from rehab! My Grandpa Bud has been having a rough time of it. It seems he caught the flu bug that swept through my family after Thanksgiving (literally- my cousin, my uncle, my mom and dad, nieces, my brother and his girlfriend, etc.) and landed himself in the hospital it was so bad. Then it was discovered that part of his symptoms were to do with his gallbladder (he did have the flu, but this was an issue too). So they removed that. He's weak and hurting, but God is healing him slowly but surely. So we give thanks to God for watching over our families and healing His creation, as only He can do!

5. Growing boy- Judah is 7 months now. 7 MONTHS! Crazy, right? He's adding new letters to his vocabulary (like B), he's rolling every which way to get what he wants, he's sitting without help! Our little fish on dry ground (he looks like he's swimming when he wants to move) is even getting close to crawling (give it a few more weeks, maybe a month...). It's nutty how fast this all goes. I find myself sighing thinking of how little he used to be. Not that he isn't my little man still, but when I look at his newborn pictures... he looks nothing like them! So I just find myself amazed by God's work in our son, and truthfully longing to get myself back in order that one day God would bless us with another little bundle of joy.
