read on...

A capacity and taste for reading gives access to whatever has already been discovered by others. - Abraham Lincoln

We read to know we are not alone. - C.S. Lewis

The reading of all good books is like conversation with the finest men of the past centuries. - Descartes

So it is with children who learn to read fluently and well: They begin to take flight into whole new worlds as effortlessly as young birds take to the sky. - William James

Being at seminary has finely honed my reading skills to where they should be. Not faster as much as making a better selection. I've been going through Romans during devotions, reading Because He Loves Me by Elyse Fitzpatrick for a women's bible study, and when I have free time Tom Brokaw's The Greatest Generation (it's given me quite an insight into my grandparents' generation). When Judah was super-little and would nurse for 30 minutes or more, I'd read voraciously, which resulted in reading 9 books in 3 months. Now that I can't read and nurse, and free time is usually used for cleaning and/or showering, that's definitely dropped my average. But motherhood is worth it. Next up on the list (once I'm caught up with the women's study cause they're on chapter 3 and I'm on chapter 2), is one I recommend for all (via Joe's high recommendation): Singing the Songs of Jesus by Michael LeFebvre. Joe's really loved it, and keeps recommending it. So that's next on my list!

What are you reading right now? Whether for enrichment, encourage, or just pure entertainment...
