Dizzying...

I've come to learn that to be a stay-at-home mom, your schedule (despite "staying at home") has to be busy. Mondays are homeschool days. Tuesdays switch between meetings and babysitting. Wednesdays are catch-up days or more babysitting or visiting elderly friends. Thursdays are usually laundry days. And Fridays are the "free" days where I catch up with whatever I didn't do that week (be they errand-related or cleaning-related). Now... throw in a sick baby, snow, and/or other things that happen to crop up, and you have my week.

I'm not complaining. It's been a good productive week! But amidst all this, I'm illustrating a children's book! Not a professional one. Just a fun one for someone's birthday. Hence the no graphic design this week. I have a limited amount of time to finish this (mainly because I've been slacking) and this takes top priority over the other hobbies. I've illustrated before for classes, but never like this. I've never tried to copy a style from another book (the book in the making is a mock of another book, gearing towards this person). So, my detail-oriented, type A self is popping up for a bit... Needless to say, I'm super-excited about it (the book, not the type A self).

Diabetes has been going well. Last night was rough- I was low all night. Oddly enough, Judah is sick and I totally expected to be up every other hour with him. He woke up once, but my pump woke Joe and I up every half hour. Uncool pump. Uncool. It's odd that when I intentionally try to take care of my blood sugars, they go low a lot. Which is better than high, but still... not great. Meanwhile, our little dude's fever won't quit. It got up to 102.5 last night (my mind automatically thought "wow... my kid is now the same as KEZK radio in St. Louis. He's a soft rock baby." Special... I know). He's so miserable. Poor little guy. He wants to play, but he has no energy, so he just swats at things occasionally grabbing it to put in his germ-filled mouth. It's adorably pathetic. Thankfully, by God's grace, his coughing doesn't wake him up from nap. So we have a hot-steam machine (we have the old school warm steam) in his room, some baby Vapor rub on his chest and feet, clean jammers on, and pedialyte to chug. I'm praying it passes soon. I miss our curious boy. But I'm content with the cuddler too.
